Daniel, Ogega Named ASC First Team All-Conference

FARMVILLE, Va. – Juniors Joelle Daniel and Duke Ogega were named Atlantic Soccer Conference First Team All-Conference, announced earlier tonight at the post-season banquet. As a team, five Huskies were recognized at the banquet.

Daniel, a defender from Neath, Wales, was the team captain. He was fourth on the team with three points (one goal, one assist).

Ogega, a midfielder from Nairobi, Kenya, was towards the top in all statistical categories for the Huskies. He leads the team in points (6), shots (23) and game-winning goals (2), while tied for first in goals (2) and assists (2).

A pair of freshmen earned ASC Second Team All-Conference in Francisco Diaz and Dan Dwyer.

Diaz, a midfielder from San Francisco, Calif., was the leader in all newcomers, finishing tied-for-second on the team with five points and was also tied-for-second with two goals. He has one less shot than Ogega and leads the team with 13 shots on goal. He was one of only five players to appear in all 16 games.

Dwer, a midfielder from Cincinnati, Ohio, was tied-for-second in goals (2) and points (5). He has scored the only penalty kick for HBU.

Junior Lorne Cameron earned a spot on the ASC All-Academic Team. The defender from Glasgow, Scotland, has a 3.48 GPA while majoring in sociology/kinesiology. This season, he has one assist in 12 games.

The Huskies will play host Longwood in one of two semifinals Friday at 5 pm CST.
