ORU Uses Big Run to Defeat Huskies

HOUSTON – Oral Roberts used a 20-0 second-half run to pull away from HBU en route to a 107-67 win Saturday afternoon at Sharp Gym.

HBU had pulled to within 25 at 70-45 after a Destini Texada steal and layup, but the Golden Eagles went on a 20-0 run to pull away for the win.

ORU led 55-28 as the nation’s leading scorer, Kevi Luper, had 16 points and seven rebounds entering intermission. Shirolacile Holloway paced the Huskies with seven points and also was tops with four rebounds.

The Golden Eagles, thanks to the big run, out-scored HBU 52-39 as Luper led all scorers with 28 points. She was one of five Golden Eagles who had double-digit points, as Jaci Bigham and Jordan Pyle each had 15, Janae Voelker had 11 and Alex Adekunkle scored 10.

HBU was led in scoring by Holloway who had 12 points, while Jamie Spriggs scored 11 and Princess Jeanmard finished with 10. Ernesta Griciunaite finished the afternoon with six blocks, while scoring four points.
