HOUSTON – HBU head men’s soccer coach Steve Jones has announced four matches for his team’s 2010 spring exhibition schedule.

The Huskies will start the schedule against Major League Soccer member Houston Dynamo on Saturday, February 6 at 9 am. That match will take place at the Carl Lewis Track and Field Complex on the campus of the University of Houston.

The Huskies will get two weeks off before travelling across town to San Jacinto College to play the Braves on February 20 at 8 pm on the San Jacinto College-South campus. San Jacinto finished the 2009 season 11-6-1.

There will be a free “Kick for Hunger” clinic from 4-6 pm that day, with admission being two cans of non-perishable food. The food will be donated to the local food pantry. At 6 pm, St. Thomas will battle Leones, with HBU and the Braves following at 8 pm.

“There are great benefits all around with the Kick for Hunger,” said Jones. “We get kids involved with the clinic, they get to see college soccer and the canned food will help a lot of places in the area.”

On February 27, the Huskies will travel to Dallas to play the SMU Mustangs at 7 pm at Westcott Field. HBU is no stranger to Westcott Field as the Huskies competed in the SMU Tournament last season. SMU finished last season 6-8-2.

The Huskies will conclude the spring schedule by hosting their alumni match on March 6 at Sorrels Field. Time and specifics will be announced.
