VERMILLION, S.D. – The HBU women’s basketball team concluded the regular season with a 76-45 loss at South Dakota Saturday evening in the DakotaDome.

The Huskies found themselves down 30-14 at halftime, thanks to just 19 percent shooting, compared to 31 percent from the Coyotes.

Taniqua Hollis and Brittany Barton led the Huskies with three points in the first half, while Jamie Spriggs grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Abby Kinder led all scorers at the half with nine points and was tied with Jasmine Mosley for the team-high of six rebounds.

South Dakota out-scored 46-31 as the Coyotes shot 45 percent from the floor, compared to HBU’s 32 percent, for the win.

Megan Green scored all 12 of her points in the second half as she was 4-for-9 from the floor, all beyond the arc.

Green’s 12 points led the Huskies as she was the only player in double-figures. Spriggs ended the game with a team-high nine rebounds, while Brittany Maxey and Mele Leasau were second with five boards each.

Three Coyotes ended the game recording double-doubles, led by Kinder with 20 points, 11 rebounds. Amber Hegge scored 15 and grabbed 12 rebounds and Mosley had 12 and 10, respectively.

HBU (3-24, 1-11 GWC) will take part in the Great West Conference tournament, hosted by Utah Valley, from March 10-13.
