The HBU Huskies will play their final regular season game on Saturday afternoon at Sorrels Field as they host Great West rival South Dakota in a battle for the second seed from the West Division at the conference tournament.

The Huskies need a win or a tie to lock up the second seed for the tournament which would pit them against the third seed from the East Division in the opening round.

HBU is coming off a pair of road losses at Baylor and Utah Valley.  The last game was a 3-2 loss at Utah Valley.  The Huskies fell behind 3-0 in the first half but then got goals from Isla Cameron and Arielle Rodriguez in the second half.

Cameron now has five goals and two assists for a team-leading 12 points.  HBU owns a 2-2-2 record in home games this season.

South Dakota comes in to the game with a record or 4-10-1 and a conference mark of 2-3-0.  The Coyotes’ four wins this season have all come against North Dakota.  Katie Quinones leads USD with eight goals this season, accounting for more than half of the team’s goals for the year.

The last time the two teams met was in early October in Vermillion, S.D. with the Huskies edging the Coyotes 2-1 on goals from freshmen Cindy Hedden and Gabby Trujillo.

The Huskies will also be having Senior Day at halftime on Saturday with play set to begin at 1:00 pm.
