Huskies Picked to Finish Sixth in Great West Pre-Season Poll

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The HBU women’s basketball team was picked to finish sixth in the Great West Pre-season Coaches’ Poll, released by the conference office Monday night.

The Huskies are coming off an 8-21 season last year and trailed fifth place Texas-Pan American by one point. Picked to finish first in the inaugural season was North Dakota with 42 points, followed by Chicago State and Utah Valley, who both finished with 40 points.

Sophomore guard Raquel Jones and sophomore post Jamie Spriggs were named to the Pre-season All-Conference Honorable Mention Team.

HBU will begin the 2009-10 season by hosting Duke on November 13, set for a 7:35 pm tip-off.
