HBU will need three wins to win the Great West championship

The inaugural Great West women’s soccer tournament begins Friday, November 6 in Newark, N.J. with HBU taking on South Carolina State at 4:00 pm central time.

The Huskies earned the second seed from the West Division with a 3-1-2 record in conference play.  HBU finished the regular season 7-8-3 overall.  South Carolina State posted a record of 10-6-3 overall and 3-2-1 in the Great West East Division.

HBU closed out the regular season with a 2-0 victory over South Dakota.  Junior captain Isla Cameron scored both goals for the Huskies, earning Great West Offensive Player of the Week honors.  Cameron leads the Huskies with seven goals for the year and 16 points overall.

The Lady Bulldogs are allowing one goal per game and have out-scored opponents 40-19 this season.  SCSU is led by junior Sasha Bender and freshman Dani Benton who have combined for 15 goals and five assists.
