Previous College: Played one season for coach Corey Mercer...posted a 7-6 record with a 3.03 ERA in 90 innings...struck out 77 while walking 14.

High School: Was a two-time first-team all-district selection for coach Ricky Crawford...as a senior, was team captain and team MVP and was named All-Greater Houston and was selected to the HABCA All-Star Southeast team...went 6-2 with a 2.34 ERA, while hitting .437 with six home runs and 47 RBIs...as a junior, posted a 9-2 record with a 1.01 ERA...member of National Honor Society, PALS and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Personal: Marketing major...son of Don and Rebecca Schafer...born Aug. 17, 1990...one brother, Deyton...two sisters, Stacie and Dalise...father played pro beach volleyball in California...enjoys writing and watching movies.
